OrIGIN STORY
Hi, I’m Gada Jane.
I’ve spent my life exploring the ways people connect, communicate, and understand one another. I’ve also lived the challenges of navigating deep differences firsthand. I’m a psychic married to a Muslim man, and while we may not see eye-to-eye on religion, our love, respect, and curiosity for each other endure every day. This experience has taught me that connection is possible even when disagreement is real.
His family’s stories also shaped this project. My mother and father-in-law lived through the Sri Lankan civil war. They remember a time when religion didn’t matter—neighbors were friends, families visited each other’s homes. But when conflict came, friendships fractured, sometimes for years. These experiences showed me how quickly division can destroy bonds, and how vital it is to actively preserve human connection.
1001 Conversations was born from these lessons. I wanted to create a movement that encourages dialogue before division, understanding before polarization. By fostering 1,001 constructive conversations in 2026, we can show that listening, empathy, and respectful dialogue can be practiced, even in a world that feels increasingly divided.
This project is about more than counting conversations. It’s about restoring connection, inspiring curiosity, and proving that even the smallest act of listening can ripple out to create change.
